Before you install

A SharePoint Online tenant and an app catalogue. Countdown asks for no API permissions, so there is nothing to approve after the upload.

Dates are held in the web part configuration, so an editor with page edit rights can change them without involving an administrator.

Counters render in the visitor’s own time zone. A deadline that must be identical everywhere should be set against a fixed time zone in the property pane.

What happens when the date passes?

You choose: it hides itself, holds at zero, or counts up to show how long ago the date was.

Can one web part show several deadlines?

Yes. Add as many dates as you need and they render as a row, sorted by whichever is nearest.

Which time zone does it use?

The visitor’s own by default. Pin it to a fixed time zone in the property pane when the deadline is the same for everyone.

Does it need any permissions?

None. The dates live in the web part configuration and nothing is read from the tenant.
